Your Impact

Canadian Mental Health Association of Northern British Columbia has offices in Prince George and Quesnel but serves individuals and organizations throughout northern BC. We provide support services for anyone affected by mental health or who experiences mental illness and educate about mental health in workplaces and organizations. We work to spread awareness and understanding of mental health, empower and support our clients while promoting mental wellness to the individuals and communities we serve.

We rely heavily on support from donations and fundraising to continue our services throughout Northern BC.

Ride Don’t Hide 2021 participants will be raising funds for the Connections Clubhouse. Programs and projects at the clubhouse benefit the mental health and wellbeing of Canadian Mental Health Association clients, their families and the community.

Connections Clubhouse

Connections Clubhouse is a place for social support and development, recreational opportunities and community involvement. Its purpose is to facilitate the recovery and engagement of its members. It provides a place for adults living with a mental illness to participate in social, recreational and educational opportunities. Member empowerment is achieved through peer support and skill development in both group and individual settings, and mental health education is made available through courses and workshops

After 35 years of service in the Prince George Community, the clubhouse unfortunately burned down in August of 2018. In 2020 we began construction of our new clubhouse. It will be complete this spring and available for limited use until COVID 19 restrictions are lifted. We are hoping to resume full operation and have a grand opening in the fall of 2021.

Money raised by you during Ride Don’t Hide fundraising will go toward getting the clubhouse up and running with new programming, education and additions.

As well as the clubhouse, money will be going into mental health education and suicide prevention programs throughout Northern BC. In smaller communities, it can be hard for people to get the mental health services they need. The pandemic has made this even harder. CMHA is working to address these needs through programs that raise awareness and provide education about mental health.
