Important Update on Ride Don't Hide 2020 - Greater Vancouver
In this time of uncertainty and change with our understanding of COVID-19 evolving daily, those of us at CMHA would like to thank you for your past support. Supporting people with mental illness and promoting positive mental health is as important as ever, and maybe even more important in these challenging times.
I’d like to thank everyone who has registered and/or donated to our 2020 Ride Don’t Hide event. Despite the uncertainty in our world, people still need the support that CMHA programming offers. Unfortunately, we have just been informed by the City of Vancouver that all events over 250 people scheduled between now and June 30 have been cancelled due to COVID-19.
We take our responsibility to uphold and promote public health very seriously, so our team is in the process of revising the event format so that participants can still ride as a member of a virtual CMHA Ride Don’t Hide community by riding anytime, anywhere from now until June 30, 2020, without gatherings of large numbers of people.
Children and youth living with mental health challenges in the region still require our help. Battling the stigma related to mental illness needs to continue.
We want to encourage you to continue to bring mental health into the open, to raise awareness and raise funds during this critical time. CMHA’s ability to raise to this challenge will be elevated through the support of you and your networks.
Stay tuned as we finalize details of a revised Ride Don’t Hide 2020. We will update you on our plans as soon as we can!
Thank you again for your tremendous support in creating brighter futures for our children and youth.
