Decoding Mental Health 

 

This year we are getting creative with rider engagement, and have decided to launch a new initiative to encourage folks to get on their bikes, support local businesses, and raise funds to support the CMHA Victoria office. 

Across the lower island, at select businesses that support mental health awareness, there will be a QR code visible in their street-facing windows. Registered riders can use the provided map to find these codes, and scan them for an entry into a prize draw. Once scanned, this QR code will lead a rider to a webpage where they can enter their email and the location code for one entry into a prize draw. Riders can scan multiple QR codes for multiple entries, but each location only counts as one entry. 

The locations of all codes as well as a map are available for all registered riders. Only scans done by registered riders will be considered valid. This information will be on the Rider Dashboard and "welcome" email that's made accessible after you have registered to ride. If you're having trouble locating this information, please do not hesitate to reach out and we can assist you. 

How It Works

Locate and download the map sent in your "welcome" email after registering for Ride Don't Hide Victoria. You can either print the map to take with you on your walk or bike ride, or scan the code on the map to open Google Maps with all of the businesses pinned on it. From May 3rd to June 13th, walk or bike around Greater Victoria to find participating businesses. Once you've arrived at a participating business, locate their unique Ride Don't Hide QR Code (example below) taped to their front window. After you've located the QR code, follow the instructions below:

Open the camera app on your smartphone. Point the camera at the QR code. A prompt will pop up on your phone to go to a webpage; click this link. Scroll down until you see the survey. Enter the location code. Each code is unique to each location.  Enter your email address that you used to register for Ride Don't Hide. Click "Submit". Find the next business and scan their unique RDH code for multiple entries to win prizes.
