Here’s how it works…

 

Ride Outside
Get outside and feel the wind on your face. Cycling and fresh air are good for anyone’s mental and physical health. Ride—or run, walk, hike, you name it—anytime, anywhere, as long or as little as you like, ensuring you follow the recommendations from public health authorities, which may change on a day-to-day basis.

Ride Inside
Spin and sweat it out on a stationary cycle or find other ways to move your body indoors. Run on the treadmill, run the stairs, do a virtual workout session. Set your goal and work towards it daily.

Ride in Spirit
No bike? No problem! You can Ride in Spirit by practicing yoga, meditating, dancing, journaling, baking, knitting, reading... Set a mental or physical health goal and work towards it every day.

Here’s how to join…

This community virtual event accommodates riders of all ages and abilities. Participants can register as individuals or teams.

STEP 1: Register using the "REGISTER NOW" button above. 

  • Create your personal profile page and choose if you want to join a team or not.
  • Select how you want to participate (Ride Outside, Ride Inside, Ride in Spirit). You can join any of these options for FREE, or join for a $25 donation, which goes to CMHA Regina Branch.
  • You will be asked if you want to donate. Select 'no thanks' if you do not wish to donate currently. Any of these options will allow supporters to donate to your personal page or to your team page. NOTE: your personal fundraising goal does not have to match your Team's fundraising goal.
  • IMPORTANT: Ensure you opt in to receive emails from Ride Don’t Hide Regina.  There will be important information emailed out every week until June 14th to provide mental health resources and Ride Don’t Hide challenges and prize information. 

STEP 2: Set your own goals to work towards up until June 14th (you can start whenever you wish!). No bike? No problem. Ride Don't Hide, Virtually is about doing whatever moves you and setting the mental or physical goals you want to achieve. Here are some examples:

“Ride” Outside

  • run outdoors (daily, weekly, or set a KM goal)
  • take a daily walk around your neighbourhood
  • try a new trail or route (live-stream to your supporters!)

 

“Ride” Inside

  • choreograph a dance routine
  • do a 30-day yoga challenge
  • at-home workouts (daily, weekly, increased reps, etc.)

 

“Ride” in Spirit

  • start a book club with friends and family (live-stream chapter review discussions!)
  • try a new recipe each week (share pictures of the process!)
  • get crafty with your favourite hobby

 

PROTIP: You can live-stream your activity or share uploaded YouTube videos on your personal and Team page! 

STEP 3: Choose to raise awareness, raise critical funds, or both! You can help simply by sharing this virtual event and raising awareness about mental health and CMHA Regina Branch. Anyone can sponsor you by donating to your personal page, or to the team page. The funds you raise here go to CMHA Regina Branch, a charity organization that works to provide mental health services in Regina, SK.

STEP 4: Follow CMHA Regina Branch on Facebook and Instagram for up to date announcements, live feeds, and prize info. 

Steal of a Deal: There will not be any newly designed 2020 Ride Don’t Hide shirts available, however we do have a limited stock of shirts and jerseys from previous rides.  If you would like to purchase one please contact Kara Lachance for availability. $5 for tech-t’s and $20 for cycling jerseys. Check out the INCENTIVES & PRIZES tab for pictures of the available shirts to purchase. Sizes are limited

 

What is RIDE DON’T HIDE, VIRTUALLY?

Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually is an online-only awareness and peer to peer fundraising initiative. Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually asks riders to sign up online, then spread the word and raise funds for mental health programs and services. Riders are encouraged to ride outside, ride inside, or ride in spirit while taking care of themselves—physically and mentally. Through email, social media and ‘events’ that are livestreamed or broadcast online, Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually aims to facilitate a sense of agency, wellness, connection, contribution, community and belonging.

About the Ride Don’t Hide Movement

Ride Don’t Hide is an annual, nationwide community bike ride that brings mental health into the open while raising essential funds for mental health initiatives. Each year, participants and supporters all across Canada help raise almost $2-million for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). When you ride with CMHA Regina Branch, you help raise funds for the Regina area, which means we can help even more people in Regina by building and maintaining the programs and services we offer.
