Why Ride?*

*OR WALK, RUN, ROLL, SPIN, you get it...

As we face an unprecedented physical health crisis due to COVID-19, we're also facing an unprecedented mental health crisis. Businesses are shutting down, offices are closing, people are working from home, and others have lost their jobs. We're being asked to self-isolate when social connection and belonging are core to good mental health.

Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually raises essential funds for critical programs that support people of all ages with the mental health help they need, when they need it.

When you sign up for Ride Don't Hide, Virtually, you'll have the opportunity to choose where to direct your fundraising dollars:

Under normal circumstances, McEvenue Home Works at CMHA Peel Dufferin provides financial assistance to individuals and families living with mental health concerns who are experiencing a housing crisis, to help secure of maintain their housing. To meet the growing demand as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the McEvenue Home Works program has expanded the support available to include grocery cards, assistance with utility bills, access to cell phones, and basic medical supplies.

The Green-Fischer Personal Assistance Fund at CMHA Toronto was established in 1999 to help clients cover basic needs that they cannot afford, and which are not covered by social assistance. Eligible expenses include such items as groceries, medications, dental expenses, phone cards, a one-time metropass, or other necessities which may be required. During the COVID-19 crisis, the Green-Fischer Fund will be used to help vulnerable individuals with their essential needs.
