About CMHA–Shuswap/Revelstoke

The Salmon Arm Branch was formed in 1983. Since its origin, one of the primary aims has been to respond to the needs of persons who experience mental illness and use mental health services. A primary goal has been to develop a support system for those individuals, including life skills and pre-vocational training, socialization, job placement, counseling referrals, housing, community awareness and education. In 2008 we formally changed our name to CMHA—Shuswap/Revelstoke Branch. Our Vision is to have mentally healthy people in a healthy society. We are committed to strengthening the capacity of individuals, families, professionals, organizations, and communities to address mental health needs in an environment that is free from prejudice, discrimination and harassment.

CMHA/Shuswap/Revelstoke champions good mental health for everyone and supports the full participation of those with mental illness and addictions in the life of the community. In addition to providing a variety of mental health services, we are committed to community development, mental health awareness and addressing the stigma surrounding mental illness.

CMHA Shuswap-Revelstoke is dedicated to providing responsive, recovery oriented mental health services throughout the region. In addition to direct service provision, CMHA Shuswap-Revelstoke delivers information, education, and health promotion activities. Every donation we receive helps to endorse our commitment to continue to provide quality mental health education to individuals, families and our communities.
